Aaron & Erika Weatherl, New Tribes Mission -- Serving in Papua, New Guinea Aaron & Erika, our very own home-grown missionaries (Aaron grew up at BGBC) have served through New Tribes Missions at West New Britain Province of Papua, New Guinea since September 1995, motivated by the love of Christ and the desire to glorify His name. They desired to do so by reaching unreached people with the gospel of Christ in their own heart language and mother tongue. They are serving the Lord there with their four children, Rachel, Micah, Joel and Grace. The family lives in the Islands region that works in 20+ language groups. Aaron is currently the chairman of the contingency team for this region, as well as chairman of the field consultant committee, which is reponsible for church planting, translation, literacy, culture/language, and orientation consultants for the entire field of PNG. He is also a Culture Language (CLA) consultant, which entails traveling to various tribal locations and evaluating the missionary's progress and fluency in their particular language group. At present he is working with 17 units in both orientation and CLA. Erika is in charge of the mission base housing, and has oversight of 23 houses -- from setting them up to maintenance. They are thrilled to be serving in this small corner of the world.

Jeff & Michelle Theisen -- CBI, Sudan Jeff & Michelle are ministering in central Northern Uganda and Sudan. Evangelical churches there are growing, but lack leadership training for both pastors and lay people. The Theisen's ministry is to train the leaders who will then train lay people. These areas have been the center of wars and unrest for the past 20 years, so their various jobs are a constant challenge. They find that these circumstances bring about a hunger for God among the people. You can learn more about the Theisen's ministry and their prayer requests on the website.

John & Heather Witherow -- OC Africa John & Heather pursued their ministry with OC Africa in 2006 in order to grow in their relationship with Christ, to learn, and to have fun -- all of which they are doing in South Africa. Gathering strategic information to equip the body of Christ is John's main passion, and he serves as a research coordinator for the team in present and future projects in South Africa, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe. John and Heather have three sons, Micah, Jake, and Caleb, and Heather is currently engaged with the care, nurture, and spiritual development of their children. In addition to this, she is involved with both women's ministry and children's Sunday school education projects. The family loves outdoor activities and playing together as a family. South African weather is spectacular and the boys are able to be outside nearly every day, which they love! Pray for God's protection for the family as they minister in an area that is experiencing much unrest at this time. There has been increased violence because of the many needs and frustrations of the people. Also pray for physical and emotional strength as they are often exposed to heart-wrenching conditions, as well as meeting basic needs of refugees from Zimbabwe who come into that area.

Reg & Mary Epp -- Missionary Aviation Fellowship, Nampa, ID Reg & Mary, and their children, Erin, Emily & Jason, are missionaries with MAF, and are currently serving at MAF Headquarters in Nampa, Idaho -- after having served from 1986 to 1999 in Botswana. Their service now consists of doing tasks that help the people on the field accomplish their work and ministry. Their duties include specialized flight training, staff recruitment & counseling, purchasing and shipping of aircraft parts, finance and accounting, administration of an internet gateway for worldwide e-mail, fund raising, printing& mailing of materials -- for starters! Generally, Reg is filling needs in the hangar, while Mary enjoys working in the Headquarters offices. Their most recent newsletter relates that they are praising God for their children as Erin finishes her schooling to become a speech/language pathologist, and Emily graduation in May with an accounting degree. Also, Jason (who has been cancer-free since October 2000) graduated from Apollo College in Boise as a licensed Massage Therapist. Pray for the Epps as Reg has been doing much traveling to various parts of the globe, pray for safety and strength; for Mary as she's been teaching classes for the children of prospective MAF candidates; and for wisdom for their kids as they are making decisions about their future.
